How to Use Your Medium Articles to Demonstrate You Are a Thought Leader
--
If you are like me, you have invested a lot of time and energy into publishing articles on Medium; it is now time to start monetizing your efforts.
Believe in yourself, and if you suffer from imposter syndrome, start taking the first steps to overcome your inner feelings and capitalize on the fine work you have shared on Medium.
Merriam-Webster defines imposter syndrome, in part, as “persistent doubt concerning one’s abilities or accomplishments accompanied by the fear of being exposed as a fraud despite evidence of one’s ongoing success.”
I have often suffered from imposter syndrome, and I am now glad to say that I have overcome this feeling, and all it took is taking that leap and living by my mantra of being a ‘can-do person’.
It all started several years ago when I was approached to be the MC of a three-day Cyber conference, and I jumped at the chance without hesitation. Yes, I had imposter syndrome, but it is here I adopted my can-do attitude.
I attended an event that the same company held several weeks earlier and took copious notes on how the MC ran that event. I then entered my event with a positive mindset and gave it my best shot. Yes, I could have done better, but I had a go and never looked back.
It was nerve-wracking, MC’ing to a room of over 100 cyber professionals, but it is what I needed to get over my imposter syndrome feelings. Be optimistic, be confident of your abilities and seize the day, I say.
Moving forward with Medium articles
I have over 125 articles published on the Medium platform, so I am using excerpts in all my upcoming books. They are adding considerable value to the books published on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, where I earn on each page read.
